Sherman De Jesus maakte alom geprezen films als A Shtetl in the Caribbean, De Zero Revolutie, Gods Eigen Parochie, Jan Schoonhoven – Beambte 18977, Alles Moet Nieuw – Piet Zwart, Alles Is Licht – Jan Henderikse, Leve het Bruine Monster en De Indiaan Baarde Een Neger. Hij produceerde prijswinnende films als Boy Ecury van Frans Weisz, Zie Mij Doen, Carnotstraat 17 en Verdwaald in het Geheugenpaleis van Klara Van Es en Zielen van Napels, van Vincent Monnikendam.

Hij bezocht Film Business School (Madrid) onder leiding van Jonathan Olsberg, de Master Classes Regie van István Szabó en Judith Weston Acting Studio (Acting for Directors), Binger Film Instituut, Story, scriptwriting class seminar van Robert McKee, (Parijs.) Sherman De Jesus is founding member van Dutch Academy for Film, hij stond aan de wieg van het Nederlands Film Festival en was lid van de Nederlandse Oscarcommissie 2012. 

Cécile van Eijk (1960) studeerde andragogische wetenschappen met specialisaties volwasseneneducatie en massacommunicatie. Maurits Binger Film Instituut opleiding internationale filmproducers: COMPANY. Was docent audiovisuele communicatie aan de Hoge School van Utrecht,  voorzitter adviescommissie av producties Gemeente Utrecht. Volgde EDN-workshop in Lissabon. Was lid Raad van Advies van Filmhuis ’t Hoogt, Utrecht.  

In 1992 richtte zij Memphis Film & Television op, met regisseur Sherman De Jesus. Zij ontwikkelde documentaires zoals Gevangen op Java met Gerard Thoolen en Poncke Princen. Zielen van Napels van Vincent Monnikendam werd geselecteerd voor meer dan 30 internationale filmfestivals o.a. Tribeca Film Festival New York, Visions du Réel, Thessaloniki Doc. Festival. De film ontving de volgende Awards: Most innovative Documentary, Shanghai Television Festival, Best Documentary Int. Doc. Film Festival “Contact”, Kiev. Kristallen Film voor de 10.000ste bezoeker. De korte film Schat was de Nederlandse Oscar inzending. Verdwaald in het Geheugenpaleis van regisseur Klara van Es, een coproductie met Associate Directors (België). In België meer dan 20.000 bezoekers, Nederland bijna 10.000 bezoekers.

Milton Kam’s werk omvat meer dan 20 speelfilms, evenals televisiecredits, waaronder Amazon Prime’s American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story en Netflix’s Roman Empire – Reign Of Blood. Milton’s meest productieve samenwerking is met regisseur Simon Rumley, die onder andere Red White & Blue en Fashionista regisseerde. Naast films in de VS heeft Milton ook regelmatig in het Verenigd Koninkrijk gewerkt. Deze producties omvatten The Living And The Dead, Crowhurst, Once Upon A Time In London van Simon Rumley; en David Rocksavage’s familiedrama Shadows In The Sun, met in de hoofdrol schermlegende Jean Simmons.

Milton’s favoriete ervaring is Vanaja, een drama opgenomen in India dat de Zilveren Beer won op de Berlinale 2007 voor regisseur Rajnesh Domalpalli en een nominatie bij de Independent Spirit Awards 2008 voor beste cinematografie.

Milton’s werk in documentaires omvat Sundaram Tagore’s Louis Kahn’s Tiger City over een van de meest invloedrijke architecten van de 20e eeuw, en The Polygon die de menselijke tol onderzoekt van 30 jaar kernwapentesten door de Sovjets in Oost-Kazachstan.

Caitlin Hulscher volgde van 1988 tot 1991 de Filmacademie in Amsterdam, richting scenario, regie en montage. 

De opleiding verliet zij voortijdig met de 16mm film Iris, a state of mind die werd vertoond op het IFFR en aangekocht door Museum Arnhem.

In de jaren ’90 ontwikkelde zij zich als videokunstenaar en werd haar werk vertoond in galeries en musea  en aangekocht door het Centraal Museum Utrecht, Museum Arnhem en de Sanders Collectie. 

Sinds 2002 werkt zij als freelance editor. Producties waaraan ze meewerkte zijn oa : The Photograph (AVROTROS), Diva Fong Leng (AVROTROS), 

De Wijde Wereld (KRONCRV), Het Pärt Gevoel,  De Zero Revolutie (VPRO), Marte & Partners (AVROTROS) 

Pianist-composer-arranger Randal Corsen (Curaçao, 1972) lived, studied, and worked as a professional musician and music teacher in the Netherlands for 23 years. He is the first Antillean musician ever to receive the prestigious Dutch Edison Award, and the first composer of an Opera (Katibu di Shon) sung completely in Papiamentu, the native language of Curaçao.

He worked with Tania Kross, Izaline Calister, Roy Hargrove, Horacio El Negro Hernandez, Paquito D’ Rivera, Tineke Postma, Marzio Scholten and the Metropole Orkest among others, and performed as a soloist at festivals and venues in the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, London, Colombia, Belgium, Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Cuba, Curaçao, Bonaire and Aruba among others.   

After moving back to Curaçao in 2013, Randal received several prestigious awards for his outstanding contribution to local culture, like the Boeli Van Leeuwen Award in 2014, and the Cola Debrot Award in 2018.

Randal is featured in the Prix Italia nominated documentary Chopin, Caribbean Key (2020) by Polish director Agnieszka Lipiec, and in the short documentary by Curaçao director Selwyn De Wind Muzik Sin Barera (2021), about his latest project with vocalist-songwriter Dibo D.

Randal previously composed original scores for two other Memphis Film & Television productions by Sherman De Jesus: The award-winning documentary A Shtetl In The Caribbean (2014) and The Zero Revolution – Henk Peeters (2015). 

Mark Glynne is sinds 1982 werkzaam als sound designer, sound editor en re-recording mixer. Hij ontving het Gouden Kalf voor Beste Sound Design voor de film Tussenstand (2007) en voor de film Beyond Sleep (2016).

Tom Bijnen is sinds 2003 werkzaam als freelance sound designer, sound editor en re-recording mixer. Hij is genomineerd voor het Gouden Kalf voor Beste Sound Design voor 4 Elements (2007). Hij ontving de Golden Wing voor Beste Sound Design voor Kristen (2015)

Samen zijn ze verantwoordelijk voor de Sound Design van o.a. documentaires als Ze Noemen Me Baboe (Sandra Beerends / Gouden Kalf Beste Lange Documentaire 2020),Turn Your Body To The Sun (Aliona van der Horst 2021) en speelfilms als Buladó (Eché Janga / Gouden Kalf Beste Speelfilm 2020) en Huda’s Salon (Hany Abu Assad 2021).

Frank Sheppard, actor, director and singer came in the mid-80s from America to the Netherlands, where he played in a large number of theatre performances and films. He was one of the defining actors of Cosmic Illusion. Frank Sheppard’s last film role was in The Photograph  by Sherman De Jesus as the voice of the director’s grandfather Juan De Jesus.

Before coming to the Netherlands, Frank Sheppard acted in films such as Kill Squad (Patrick G. Donahue), Fright Show and Johnnie Mae Gibson: FBI (Bill Duke, 1986).

Sheppard was born in Newark and worked as a private investigator in San Francisco and successfully as an actor in Los Angeles. In Amsterdam he played for the first time in 1987 in The Meeting of Cosmic Illusion, directed by John Leerdam. He also worked on  De laatste dagen van Clover Fields, or: A Coon’s Carnival by De Nieuw Amsterdam, directed by Rufus Collins and Henk Tjon.

He gained international recognition with  O.J. Othello,a text by Maarten van Hinte about the similarities between Othello and O.J. Simpson, which won a First Fringe Award in Edinburgh in 1998 and also played in New York.

In the 90s and 00’s he played in performances by Annemarie Prins, De Gebroeders Flint and Felix de Rooy. In 2006 he played at Toneelgroep Amsterdam in Huis van de Toekomst by Carina Molier. He was also active as a jazz and blues singer. His last theatre role was in 2018 in Martin Luther King directed by John Leerdam.

In recent years Frank Sheppard has mainly played in Dutch films and television series. He has been in the Minimal movies Lost in Amsterdam  (Pim de la Parra and Paul Ruven), Let the Music Dance (Pim De la Parra and Paul Ruven), How to Survive a Broken Heart  (Paul Ruven), The Blissful Suffering of Derek Beaujon (Pim De la Parra), Van Gogh’s Ear (Tony Garcia,) and The Best Thing in Life (Paul Ruven). He also appeared in Rumbling Sky Dragon Tiger Meeting/China White  (Ronny Yu), De avonden (Rudolf van den Berg), Modern Crimes (Alejandro Agresti), the TV series De partizanen  (Theu Boermans), Brylcream Boulevard  (Robbe De Hert), An Amsterdam Tale  (Dorna van Rouveroy van Nieuwaal), the TV series Leven en dood van Quidam Quidam (Maria  Uitdehaag and Robert Wiering), Win/Win (Jaap van Heusden), Deal (Eddy Terstall),  Wonderbroeders (Johan Timmers) and Pak van mijn hart (Kees van Nieuwkerk). He also starred in the short films De boxer (Camille Verbunt), Novellen: Jan Willem Goes Bijlmer (Elbert van Strien), the graduation production Schemeren  (Jenneke Boeijink), Caresse (Jim Taihuttu), The Palace (Ruud Satijn) and the graduation film Broker (David-Jan Bronsgeest).

He was the voice of the title character in the documentary Mister Soul: A Story about Donny Hathaway  (David Kleijwegt).

Frank Sheppard  died on March 5 in Amsterdam at the age of 70.
